“We don’t look to be ruled!”

When it comes to political discourse I don’t tolerant dogma, smears,
or self-indulgent ideologues.

I want to hear ‘opinions’ that are supported by evidence I can find
beyond the fringes of Brietbart and The Militant

I have no respect for people who are too lazy to think for themselves.

I have no patience for people who repeat the talking points and character
assassinations on Fox News.

Your uninformed opinion is not equal to an informed opinion,
and opinions aren’t news.

If you have to lie to make your point you don’t have one.

If you have to cheat to win your game you’ve lost.

These basic norms of behavior are clear to most thinking
Americans.

I don’t engage with Trump supporters because I don’t
believe they exist.

As far as I’m concerned people posting as Trump supporters
are either paid Russian operatives or mindless AI programs.

I refuse believe that real Americans are so blindly stupid.

Rob Goldstein, 2017

On edit: This post uses hyperbole to make a point although if I have to
explain it, it didn’t work. I know that a minority of Americans support
Trump. These are the same people who believe that gay men are gay
because they have a clitoris in their throats.

7 DAYS: OUR WEEK OF PEACE * DAY ONE: NATIVE AMERICA

A week of Peace: Day Two

The Neighborhood

psy phi

I do not consider myself homeless. I could not find Peace anywhere else, so I moved back to nature and I am at Peace here. The elements watch over me. And in return I give back. The old owl alerts me to danger. And when it was drowning, I saved its life.

You have to give something back. Otherwise, it doesn’t work. If you ever want Peace, you have to find it in yourself and then being willing to do whatever it takes, to give Peace away. – Psy Phi, a homeless Native American

PRESENTING NADINE JORDAN, SACRAMENTO

“1855 a cool night, she moves swiftly, following the road marks of the Underground Railroad, freedom is ahead. The promise of a new life, but she is afraid and a lone. The darkness crushing her tightly, only the light of the moon shining on her path.  As…

Racist Hatred Comes Out Against Mothers of the Movement

Can we just admit that one of our political parties in the U.S. is now a tool of White Supremacists. The only way to stop this ugliness is for those of us who believe in the power of our Democracy to Unite and Rebuke their agenda.

We Hold These Truths To Be Self-Evident

At the Democratic National Convention held July 26, 2016, nine mothers appeared on the stage.  Those nine were:

Sybrina Fulton, mother of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin;

Gwen Carr, mother of 42-year-old Eric Garner;

Lezley McSpadden, mother of 18-year old Mike Brown;

Lucia McBath, mother of 17-year-old Jordan Davis;

Wanda Johnson, mother of 22-year old Oscar Grant;

Cleopatra Pendleton-Cowley, mother of 15-year old Hadiya Pendleton;

Annette Nance-Holt, mother of 16-year old Blair Holt;

Maria Hamilton, mother of 31-year old Dontré Hamilton.

Geneva Reed-Veal, the mother of 28-year old Sandra Bland

The nine mothers named above represent Mothers of the Movement because their children’s names helped energize the Black Lives Matter Movement and Black Lives Matter network.  Their goal is aimed at enacting better gun control measures, repeal laws that might shield vigilantes from prosecution, and increase transparency and accountability for officers who kill…

Change is Coming; Our Bodies, Our Choice!

Change is Coming, let’s liberate our healthcare from greedy and corrupt profiteers!

Momentum is building within the chronic illness community and as the numbers reach epidemic proportions we are rapidly becoming the majority and becoming a formidable voting block as well.

As patients we are taking our health into our own hands and insisting upon the respect and dignity we deserve in forging our own path to wellness…and on our terms. As we become more and more educated the traditional medical hierarchy is increasingly proving to be outdated and non-applicable given the current state of affairs.

This is our life and our body that we live with 24/7. The doctor who treats or fails to treat can go home and turn his mind to other things, whereas whatever treatment decisions are made will follow us, the patients, when we return home. These decisions and the orders or lack thereof surrounding them often determine our level of relief or suffering. Our doctors, (while…
