A Day in the Hospital – Part Two

I cross from
12 to 12:30
down to L.A.
to the flatlands
to
eternal youth
or
perhaps
a snicker.
I am a file pulled as
a case
and these four walls
merge in a night of
fear,
lost in smoke…
Nicotine?
Who is at rest?
My Mother tapped
my skull
and my brain
spilt out
dendrites to
the nearest
star
wrenched from skin:
dissected.

A Day in the Hospital – Part 1-

Pieces
of me
dangle
above
newborn
eyes.
Legs jig
arms spin
but that
ball
of intellect
lies
that ball
of rage
cuts
this ball
of love
falls
and
bounces
away.
We are at root causes.
Scent of remembered
sweat:
through cracks
it drips,
Yet now–
…silence…
