Already Happening: The Normalization of Trumpism – via TDB

Excellent post, please read.

Interesting article- but that’s not the normalisation we need fear most. Yesterday I read a complaint that a reporter was offended by the use of the N word. Let that sink in. It means a reporter does not have the right to be offended by the use of the N word. This N word:

  1. Dear Rob,

I can’t normalize this man as U.S. President-elect as the same one who got caught on tape bragging about his ability to grab women by the p—- without being challenged because of his power.

He will never be an acceptable occupant of the WH.

Dear Republicans, How does it feel to see your standard bearer as someone who outdoes President Clinton in this category. Remember all your previous words of disgust. Where are those words now?

    I don’t forget. Hugs, Gronda

    1. Gronda, I understand your distress. I think it is time for democrats and progressives to give up the idea that we can hold modern republicans accountable. Trump exemplifies the boldness of their hypocrisy. Modern republicans, by that I mean conservatives who support Trump, are not bound by truth or morality or any of the laws that govern a civilized life. Perhaps more destructive is their lack of concern for our democracy or the credibility of our country as a world leader. The horrifying truth is that racism, xenophobia carried the day, and we who oppose it must do what we can to mitigate the damage.

  2. The American people and citizens of the world should start with this baseline view. Be skeptical of every word uttered by the President-elect, as that is consistent with his history in business and as a candidate.
