Washington was Nuked and Trump says Nothing Happened

I watched #MSNBC this morning as various experts and news people discussed Trump’s strengths and weaknesses in his relationship with Vladimir Putin.

KellyAnn Conway arrived to give her opinion of Putin’s attack on the United States:

And I thought, how can we know the damage without a complete investigation of the facts?

According to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Russia worked “…to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency,”

The report also describes: “… a vast Russian intelligence operation that extends from hacking both Democratic and Republican targets to propaganda campaigns to troll-fueled social media disinformation. It re-asserts the intelligence community’s findings that the Kremlin is behind breaches of the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and even state election board websites. And the express intention of those operations, the report states, was to not only disrupt the American electoral process, but to elect Donald Trump.” Wired

That’s a serious crime against the American people.

Free and verified elections that produce a legitimately elected leader
is the heart of our Democracy.

Confidence in our vote is what makes us America.

It’s as if Washington was nuked and Trump says nothing happened.

  1. Deas re DTr Rob, I have been a red head for most of my life, but now I color it.

As for DT Jill of Filosofa blog is looking to divide up the blogs regarding him among some of us. I am willing to consider this but I do want dubs on the Russian connection.

My prayer is to get DT’S conflicts of interests into the courtroom so that his IRS tax returns can be subpoenaed.

    Hugs, Gronda

    1. Every day I wake up with a new understanding of the damage. Today I realized that Putin wants the world to know what he did. When Trump is inaugurated Putin becomes the most powerful man in the world.

And it looks as if our current government feels powerless to stop it.

      1. I have no words. It feels like such a bad dream & I can’t wake up. Never in my mind or thoughts … America & Russia! Trump is a chump … and we ALL lost, even the idiots that don’t know it yet!

      2. It’s weird. Here we are ‘libtard’ activists who routinely criticize the United States for not living up to its principles — libtards who understand that a government that respects your freedom to criticize your government is precious

      3. We are awakening … a bit late. Too much damage done already. He isn’t even prez! Too much can happen. In 2 years, until 2018 … new Congress badly needed.
His ‘title’: BLOTUS … not POTUS .. Biggest Liar of the States …

      4. I’ve always thought that the U.S. made a huge mistake in thinking that our economic system won the Cold War. It didn’t. What won the cold war was our position on human rights and our emphasis on free and credible elections. Now we have a capitalist oligarch manipulating our elections as part of an effort to undermine democracy as a credible political system. How sad this is–How stupid our leaders were.

      5. I think it’s too late. I find myself taking hope in small things. For instance, when Trump released his lie about the intelligence briefing the intelligence community immediately released the truth. They were going to wait a week. Maybe the early release means a plan is in place…or maybe it means nothing,. It really has come down to waiting for the savior.

  2. Forgive me, at the outset please, if I’m not 100% on my facts. I’m asking questions here and have been since the news of the Kremlin’s possible interference in the 2016 US election. My first question – has Russia’s interference been fully confirmed? If so, that amounts to an act of war in my mind. Also if so, did Donald Trump know of this in any way whatsoever? IF he did, then that amounts to treason as far as I can see. If that can be proven beyond all shadow of doubt then Trump could end up as the first President elect, or President, found guilty of treason. What do you do with a President or President elect who is guilty of treason ? If you remove him and try him for treason, what’s the consequence or final charge look like ? Can he be put to death ? If the President or PE, is found guilty and removed from Office, does the VP, or VP elect, take over ? If the election is proven to be false, then does another one ensue or do you go with the ACTUAL numbers and proceed from the result ? Can you actually ascertain those numbers ? Would it then go to Hilary Clinton, if she, in fact did win the election ? Would a full disclosure of all verified facts which lead to an impeachment or removal of Trump and since timing is crucial, just a bit more than 10 days, would the current administration then be in a position to hold on to power in a kind of state of emergency until such time as the next step can be figured out ?

    1. Richard, you’re in good company if you understand that this was an act of war.

“According to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Russia worked “…to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency,” the report reads. “We further assess Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump. We have high confidence in these judgments.”

      But that’s just the beginning:

““Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency,” the report reads. “We further assess Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump. We have high confidence in these judgments.”

We know what political ads are supposed to look like.

These are not political ads. These GOP ads that ran in 2016 are vicious smears designed to strip Clinton of Credibility and designate her as an enemy.

Fabricating an enemy IS a standard feature of Russian Propaganda.

  3. A lot of the news is so shocking and disheartening, I feel like it’s best in small doses. Not like I want to hide from it all and be more ignorant, but enough that a lil dab’ll do ya. A person can only take so much.
