  1. I agree with Diana and the Doc. If a landing page is well laid out, then it’s not so bad. However, that’s very rarely the case. But most of the time I’m just looking for the current blog post.

How are you doing, Rob? I hope all is well. Thanks for the great music.
    Hugs.

  2. I don’t like landing pages because after the first visit it just means another click to get to the latest post. But…. if someone posts a lot, a nicely laid out menu of posts on the landing page lets a visitor pick and choose posts of interest. I do like that.

I’m not a fan of landing or static pages. I like to read current posts. Then if I like what I’ve read, I’ll do my own clicking to investigate further. Landing posts are not helpful at all when it comes to re-blogs or prompts we share. I click on another person writing about doors, and am taken to a page that’s a year old, no door in sight, and wonder how I’ll get to the doors post, and worse, is there actually a door post? I’m guessing people with landing posts often lose readers who arrive thinking, “Oh I’ve already read this. I guess they don’t write anymore.”

      1. I think so. I upgraded the theme awhile ago. I get so caught up in ‘making’ content sso I never got around to learning how to use my blog to showcase my work. It’s almost an achievement to think about it this way, if that makes sense. πŸ™‚

      2. It is. It’s relatively unimportant unless your readers/onlookers are missing what they want. There are times I go to a new-to-me blog and I think, “Gee, you’d have a lot more views if your content was organized in a way people could easily navigate.”

      3. Right. It’s taken me years to get to the point of feeling confident enough to market some of my work.

One of the things I like about my blog is that it’s all of me in one place; I don’t want to change that.

Organizing the writing by alternate is now unnecessary and confusing.

It can all be condensed to ‘Flash Fiction” and “Poetry” .

I love and reply to all comments, though I can’t always reply immediately
