Dear Pathological Narcissist

Dear Pathological Narcissist,

It is not my job to make you feel good
about abusing me.

I will not pretend you don’t lie.

I will not pretend you’re moral.

I will not pretend you’re just joking.

I will not pretend you love me.

I will not pretend it’s OK for you
to destroy me.

  1. yes as much as you may go along like other people eventually you know because of the years of their lies what they are capable of, however, What on Earth do you do when the narcissist is your child’s father? how do you be aware and at the same time not berate them to your children…when they just laugh at you because they dont know…you feel like youre walking on egg shells…hopefully when they turn 18 i will be done but i doubt it

      1. Well, it was her ex’s wife. We have two older kids that I am a stepfather too. My oldest son (Or rather Step-son) has his issues also. Some learned behavior and some not.

Dealing with such a person… Is SO very hard. We just left the situation when our son and daughter were of age to be adults. Haven’t dealt with them since. Though she tries, A LOT…

If it is a son or daughter. Seek help for them, counseling etc… If there is violence form your daughter and/or son/relative, you can get the police involved. Don’t let yourself or other members get harmed because you love your family member. It sounds harsh… But dealing with so much emotional mess can only go so far. If someone is going to get hurt or killed, it is not worth it.

I’m kind of useless on any more advice. Other than seeking your own counseling and help. Emotions can be so hard to deal with.

  2. I have tried to say those words….actually, I have said those words. But when you’re dealing with a narcissist…don’t you know they always find a way to turn it back around on you? Don’t you know they use those words to whine to your children about how mean and nasty their mother is and how it proves she’s insane?

    1. I have an alternate that deals with them; an inner bitch. Sarah has no feelings when it comes to narcs. Matthew suffers guilt and looks for reasons to forgive. Sara knows the narc feeds on pushing buttons and when she comes Matthew’s ‘guilt’ disappears. The narc never knows who he’s dealing with. πŸ™‚

    1. In my personal life I have a family member who lies to my treatment team in an attempt to make me look crazier than I am. Fortunately my therapist is on to it and we’ve both confronted her. I’ve told this person that I care about her and if she is willing to give me a written letter of apology, one in which she swears to stop lying, I will happily resume our friendship; but she’s a typical narcissist. She will do anything but apologize and she acts wounded because I dared to call out her lies and go no contact. The childish antics of these psychopaths would be funny if they weren’t so lethal. Think of it, a family member who lies to your doctors to sabotage treatment or a Presidents who bring the nation to its knees because he feels entitled to steal what he can never earn.

I’m sick of the moral turpitude of these people and I intend to do everything I can to clear it out of my life, both personally and politically.
