I briefly worked for an agency, nine years ago, which purported to follow “new ways of thinking” about mental health services. It turned out the deal was “My way or the highway” and “Our little family follows rules”.
Non-profits are often ego driven. I worked for an agency that provided residential treatment to San Francisco’s homeless mentally ill. At its most ineffective it was better than starving in filth on the streets.
I worked for a place that said, “we are all family.”
Immediately I knew working here would be almost as problematic as being a member of their real family.
I was right.
After all families frequently have quite a few problems.
If they didn’t, I would not have been overworked as a psychotherapist for 30 years.
Ah! Thank you! Teagan will publish the next episode tomorrow–I’ve been working on the illustrations for it. This is alot of fun and an interesting challenge, Thank you for mentioning it.

It would sound like gibberish to him. 🙂

This is an interesting quote; makes him come across as untrustworthy.

Almost as if the GOP was part of the Russian mob. The article is about a discussion Ryan had in 2016. He knew that Putin was funding Trump.

My response to ‘we are family’ work places is: “Already had one, thanks.”
