A hundred times every day I remind myself that my
inner and outer lives are based on the labors of
other men. living and dead, and that I must exert
myself in order to give in the same measure as I have
received and am still receiving.Albert Einstein
This is my first time reading that quote from Albert Einstein, and it’s incredible. He’s very right: all the good things we have are in some way the results of others’ efforts. It’s quite humbling to realize that, especially in a country like the U.S. that was largely built by slave labor.

It’s humbling to think how small my accomplishments are in light of gifts I’ve received.

I don’t think your accomplishments are small but I do understand what you mean. We are the beneficiaries of generations of men and women who worked hard to make a better world for us.

Wonderful, Robert. I played the clarinet for about 10 years. So this I liked to listen even more.

Thank you.
I just found a blog written by a woman with Dissociative Identity Disorder. Her name is Holly Gray and the name of her blog is a Dissociative living. You may already know of it because you’ve been blogging for much longer than I have, but it you don’t know of her you may enjoy her no nonsense attitude toward living with a mental illness.
