Teagan Geneviene and I collaborated on a ‘Lulu’ story for Sue Vincent’s Daily Echo.
My part was making illustrations and a video; for that, I took a break from social media.
Thanks to Sue for being the inspiration for this collaboration with Teagan.
I’m honored to share a guest spot on Sue’s blog.
I learn when I take on a project like this, and it’s fun to illustrate a character as surreal as ‘Lulu’.

It took three shoots to figure out how to stage Tom Driberg’s capture

I want the graphics to reflect the spirit of Teagan’s story.
I hope I’ve done that with this video.

You’ve done a great job, Rob. I’ve just been over and read the first part of the story. It’s great to see Lulu back.
Your artwork and video are brilliant and certainly fit in with Teagan’s fiction.
Have a great weekend.

Such fun to see the images you put together for Teagan’s story, Robert. And the old-timey music is perfect. 🙂

Diana, Rob telling me about his grandmother singing “Don’t Bring Lulu” to him was the seed of all the Lulu stories. 🙂 I’m glad he brought it back for this video. Hugs.

I remember those mornings in Queens watching my Grandmother fry eggs while belting out ‘Don’t Bring Lulu”.

We are all busy with our lives in these extraordinary times. I often feel I don’t ‘do’ enough but I do my best, I think we all do.

You say exactly what I think too, Robert. And I agree, we can only do our best and I believe too that we all are doing it. Feel hugged, dear friend!

Thank you John. Staging a shoot in virtual reality is such a different process from writing, it takes a different kind of focus. I enjoyed working on it and I’m glad it’s finished. 🙂

Thanks Teagan. I’m glad we did another Lulu story. I wonder what happens to Chicago when the dino grows up. 🙂

Ha! I think it might be hard to housebreak the dino.
Then again, I can see Lulu, Moon, and Dynamite using cheeseburgers to train him. Later he’s wearing a waiter’s uniform.
Hugs on pterodactyl wings!
