“We are confronted primarily with a moral issue. It is as old as the scriptures and is as clear as the American Constitution. The heart of the question is whether all Americans are to be afforded equal rights and equal opportunities.”
John Fitzgerald Kennedy, 1963 from quora.com
Wow….the daggers were out in some of these response dialogues:… in the name of religion we have committed and still commit terrible crimes.

I think I found it when I ran a search for gay themed Music, 2015. My blog crashed and I lost media files so I’m going post by post to either repair or trash. I liked this so I fixed it and re-posted it for #Stonewall50. Thank you for re-blogging it.

You are most welcome! 🙏🏽 … the representation of that song was amazing. The ‘credits’ at the end, Trevor Project, etc explains a lot. Thx again … 💞

Wow, uh, this video spoke directly to me. It was a bit uncomfortable because I have known some of the same pains that are quite artistically represented in the video. Over the decades, I have FORTUNATELY come to a fuller understanding of God’s love than Talmudized, Babylonian, pharisaical Christians–lovers of their own doctrine, dogma, or denomination, and traditions of men (Mark 7/6-13). They put God in a box and filter Him through their own experiences, understand Him only through their own intellect. Infinity is in a box, and that box is in God’s hands. We cannot perceive God as He is through our own capacities because we’re inside that box. HE is the only outside-the-box Thinker.

I have never seen this video. I will say that I damn well resent somebody saying that “you can not have faith in God and be okay with homosexuality.”
Do they really still preach this kind of bullshit in church? Probably a good thing I no longer go.

Taking God away from people is the cruelest form of oppression. This kind of hate from the pulpit is one of the reasons I go to Church. A strong and compassionate presence is a powerful argument against hate.

You’re a better man than I am. I wouldn’t last a minute after I called bullshit…then the holy water would start boiling and the stained glass windows would start to shatter….LOLOL

Our spiritual lives are important, even to people who don’t believe in a divine being. Secular humanism is a spiritual creed that emphasis faith in the human spirit and in our capacity for reason. LOL…Boiling holy waster..

I have always believed and I have always enjoyed the teachings of the Bible but I have never been able to accept hypocrisy, bigotry and judgmental admonitions.

I have a much harder time with hypocrisy from people who claim to be free of it. We all make compromises to survive. It’s people who hold others to a standard that they don’t even try to live up to that I have trouble with.

Me too. I am invited to go back to church now and then. I tell them I’m not good enough. I can’t, in good conscience, have hateful thoughts, cuss like a sailor and then go to church and pretend to be a decent human being. I don’t pray anymore and I’m not going to start faking it now.

Never fake anything, unless it’s a forced smile for a friend about whom you have mixed feelings.;)

Ha. I said you were a better man than I am. I can’t do that. If I don’t like somebody…they know it. I would rather be alone than around people I don’t like. It took me more than forty years to figure out that I don’t have to suffer fools…and I don’t. 🙂
