Flickr Wednesday: Sonia Adam Murray

Sonia Adam Murray writes:

I am an abstract artist and much of my photography is abstract. I also enjoy playing with real photography. I love to photograph shadows, light, people, water, sunsets, flowers and life around me. Art should address life today and I am very involved in creating art that looks for ways to make a better world, I feel that we artists have a duty to address our current world situation and identify behaviors that we see as wrong or that needs to be changed. It is also important to address the beautiful and good things in life. I may see things differently to others and that is what makes art so interesting. I am open to critique and any helpful advice.

Flickr Wednesday: Paul Boudreau

This week’s Flickr Wednesday is a re-blog of one of my favorite artists.

Art by Rob Goldstein

I asked Paul if he wanted to make a statement and he told me to use what he has in his profile:

MICHEAL’S WORD PAINTING
By Artist Unknown

“It carries a certain up-right deportment, wouldn’t you say?” They had sat down on a bench that faced the artwork. Vanessa studied the reflection in a glass partition, ten or so feet to the right. It was this ability to view the pieces from alternate perceptions that they loved when coming to this museum; well, that and the third floor utility closet.

Shem continuously ignited her ambivalence, blowing it to smithereenies and opening wide swaths of ‘territoire d’imagination’.

“Given the elasticity of the lines,” she turns frontwards and leaning over to her right, right up next to Shem, so as he can see it also, runs a pointed finger in the air; a kind of semi-arc, “neither there,” she swings…

Nights in Paris

Nights in Paris

perhaps
we were
too young,
two trying to
become one,
to disappear
into shadows
along the quay,
the Pont Neuf,
ripples of light
the water
became, last
two pigeons
that watched
us vanish, hand
in hand where
the path ahead
lay dark, where
city sounds,
night sounds,
everything
stopped.

Flickr Wednesday: Diana Thorold

Diana writes:

“I have been involved in ‘the arts’ one way or the other all my life.

Born in Kenya, I lived on a farm and made cards and presents for friends and family – In childhood I learned to use and make from what was around me. … now it is ‘fashionable’ to reuse, recycle.

I run workshops to help people find their creativity.

I have a small seasonal shop ‘Blistering Barnacles’ that I run with my partner.
We make almost everything we sell.

My work on Flickr is more for ‘fun’ – I enjoy entering the groups competitions and manipulating and mangling photos.  I Hope my work inspires you”
