Lady Liberty, New York Harbor …. ‘A Poem by Brad Geyer …. Global Citizen …. “!!

from Dr. Rex

It Is What It Is

~~March 8, 2017~~

Watch slam poet send an emotional message as he tears into Trump’s executive order on Muslims and immigration.

Immigrants of many countries are having a very rough time now.

In a country very well know for arising from a melting pot of immigrants, it’s not the norm to see this hatred, discrimination, racism and every thing else that has become the standards of the current administration.

Take a look.

This poem says it all!!

Global Citizen is a community of people like you – a place to learn about and take action on the world’s biggest issues.

Your voice matters.

It Is What It Is

~~February 2, 2017~~

The Trump Resistance Will Be Led by Angry, Assertive Women

… an agent of the Rebel Alliance …

“I believe in strong women.

I believe in the woman who is able to stand up for herself. I believe in the woman who doesn’t need to hide behind anyone’s back. I believe that if you have problems, as a woman you deal with them, you don’t play victim, you don’t make yourself look pitiful, you don’t point fingers.

You stand and you deal. You face the world with a head held high and you carry the universe in your heart.”

I substituted ‘husband’s’ for ‘anyone’s back!

Speak English please! What BS!

Sherrie asked me to add this comment to my re-blog of her post. At least I hope this is what she asked me to do. 🙂

You are very welcome! Now I have a favor to ask: would you mind re posting this comment on my re post too?
I am so glad to have found you, Rob. You are a beautiful shiny gem in the midst of a whole lot of coal! 😉
Peace, love & understanding,
Sherrie Miranda’s historically based, coming of age, Adventure novel “Secrets & Lies in El Salvador” is about an American girl in war-torn El Salvador:
Her husband made a video for her novel. He wrote the song too

I was just reading a post where Teddy Roosevelt said that immigrants need to leave their culture behind 100% & become 100% American. The ESL teacher who posted this also said that students need to learn “proper” English and stop talking slang! Here is my answer to her:

FDR had it right! JFK had it right! All you guys say you’re French or German or Italian or whatever your ancesters are. Every ethnic group hangs on to that identity and so do their kids and grandkids! You all know it! You may pretend you don’t because you want some racist a-hole to be your president, but you ALL know that what makes this country great is what the different ethnic groups brought to this country! Anyone who pretends this isn’t true is lying!
As far as slang, well, go to England & hear all the crazy slang they use!…
