San Francisco Pride, 2017

Here are a few shots from Sunday’s Pride celebration in San Francisco.

I thought about the people I marched with in the GLF in the early 1970’s
and later, with Act–Up, in the 1980’s.

It felt good to hear the speakers honor the work we did in those decades

I thought of friends who passed from AIDS, or later from grief and trauma.

I think they’d be pleased that gay liberation became a global movement
for universal Human rights.

Tent

We are in our tent under the
billion stars

On the beach of Kahana
Cove.

I trace a line from

the Big Dipper to

the Little Dipper as your

eyes follow my finger

through space.

Tonight you rest your

head on my chest and

forget the fears that

make you bite your nails

and grit your teeth.

Tonight, we are one with

this land and this beach;

these stars, above us and
all around

A Hint of Mint

This old life seemed much too long
With little point in going on
I couldn’t think of what to say
Words just vanished in the haze
I was feeling cold and tired
Yeah kinda sad and uninspired
But when it almost seemed too much
I see your face
And sense the grace
And feel the magic in your touch

Pride Day 2015

These are shots from San Francisco’s 2015 Pride
Celebration.

I saw an interesting rewrite of the Pledge of Allegiance.
I’ve closed the post with it.
