POETRY by D. L. Finn

ICICLES

The icicles dangle downward

Reaching for the substantial snow

Each drop bringing them closer

As the landscape merges into itself

It is silent in its existence

Until a raven reveals itself

Wondering what’s in the trash

Yet, the moment remains peaceful

Sitting and surveying in the chill

An instant promising potential

When there is no celerity

When crackling fires call

When surroundings are concealed

Soon, the renewal will be revealed

But now it’s the stage of contemplation.

For sustenance

For solace

For soul

To live on our abundance of the past

KINDNESS

Do something kind for someone today! From Jan Sikes

Writing and Music

A simple act of kindness can go a long way to soothe frayed nerves and weary spirits in this negative hate-filled world .

This week is designated as the Jan Hawke Random Acts of Kindness Week at the RAVE REVIEWS BOOK CLUB.

It simply feels good to do something for someone solely because you want to!

Today is also RRBC and RWISA Author, Peggy Hattendorf‘s birthday! So in honor of her birthday, the first person who responds in the comments below, who has not yet read her book, will receive an eBook of “Son of My Father – A Family Dynasty!”

It’s the end of chapter one. Lynn has been partying
all night. She stepped outside for a smoke before having “just one more drink”
before heading home. All alone after a quick conversation with the cute
bartender she hears a voice in the dark:

“Go.”

“What?” Lynn looked around, but there was no
one there. Alone and hearing voices—awesome!

“Leave.”

“Hey, who’s there?” She peered into the
darkness. No one answered. Her arms were covered with goosebumps. That voice
reminded her of something, but what?

Unnerved, she…

Discovery – Poetry and Art

Jan Sikes has a new baby out and it looks beautiful. Check it out.

Writing and Music

It’s been a while since I did any self-promotion. I do love supporting other authors and music artists. It makes me happy when I can help spread the word about the work of another.

But, today, I want to talk about a book that I am probably the proudest of, out of all of my babies, and that is the poetry and art book, DISCOVERY.

You may have noticed the author names include Rick Sikes. In truth, the only reason I included my name as an author, was so I could legally publish the book since Rick is deceased. And, I do write poetry, so I included some of my work in the back.

Several things about this book set it apart from other poetry and art books. Firstly, Rick wrote this book in its entirety while he was incarcerated in Leavenworth Prison. Secondly, he created all the artwork that…
