Good morning readers. Today, I’m taking you on a journey to London to meet the blogging family. Nerves are jingling and I’m tingling because I haven’t travelled by train since my last trip to the Bash a few years ago.

As the day progresses I will send you photos and updates and hopefully catch up with you along the way.

I’m on my way to Victoria station in London and the sights have been relaxing so far. Peaceful, rolling hills with wild flowers swept past my window and horses grazing near streams reflecting the morning light kept my fears of travel at bay.

Only a few more stops left before I get to see familiar faces I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing for years. Not long now!

We’re early but the committee are already here and prepared. It’s wonderful to see the old venue and bright smiling…

Today’s Lime Light is with someone (I Hope) you already know very well, Erika Kind from http://www.erikakind.com, a blog where Kindness and Inspiration, Spirituality and Harmony Unite.  Erika was born in Vienna but grew up in another part of Austria and in the Principality of Liechtenstein (within the Swiss Alps) where she still lives. In 1998 she moved with her little family to the States and spent there a bit more than a year. She is a part-time working mom and running a Practice for Aromatherapy and Self-Development and next to being a singer and author. Dear Writer … it’s not all about you, ya know! – Reminder #5

In marketing, it’s said that a message must be repeated 7 times before people take action. Writers, here’s your #5 reminder …

I was going to write a blog post about social media and how I’ve been paring down my use of it, because I’m finding it to be not all that social or the best media for me at the moment. After discussing with a fellow author how disappointing Twitter is (and she cleverly described T. as “like a 4-lane highway at rush hour with cars bumper-to-bumper. It makes me nervous”), I realized what bothers me isn’t not being able to navigate and use Twitter properly, but more the barrage of Tweeps who constantly tweet: Look at me! Aren’t I clever! Buy my book!

Now I’m not saying that I don’t do some self-promotion on there, but I do try to balance that with tweets of value to others…
